Rachel Jago born c1833 in Lanteglos, Cornwall, daughter of William Henry Jago and Elizabeth Nicholls married Dr. James Algie in Eramosa, Ontario in 1880. Their son Wallace Lloyd Algie was born in Canada and volunteered to serve in WWI. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for actions that resulted in his death in France, where he is buried. The award now is in the Lord Ashcroft collection. Unfortunately not in the country of his birth. | |
